Postpartum & Newborn Care
Midwifery postpartum care involves the assessment and monitoring of the birthing person and baby in the postpartum period- this includes a physical exam of the the birthing person, an assessment of the baby’s health, providing counseling and education about physical and emotional changes, recommendations on nutrition and lifestyle choices, providing nursing support, and helping to identify any potential health concerns, with the goal of helping you recover physically and emotionally from the stress of childbirth and to adjust to your new roles as parents.

Services Included
Midwives believe continuity of care is important even, after the baby is born. Every new parent needs to be given adequate care, support, and nurturing during the postpartum period, whether it's their first child or not. Our postpartum care will monitor your healing, baby's well being, support nursing, and focus on your physical and emotional well-being. We continue to be on-call for you by phone or text to ensure that you have the support you need. Care will continue for 9 weeks postpartum, but this isn't good bye. By this time, we should have formed a relationship that lasts a lifetime. I am happy to continue to be a resource for natural remedies and general health advice for the families I am honored to have served and grown to love.

Home visits: between 24-48 hours after birth, at 1 week, at 2 weeks, at 4 weeks, 6 weeks, and at 9 weeks.

Weight check of the baby at each visit and as needed

Ensure the birthing person is healing / recovering well

Optional extended postpartum care up to 12 months.

Assistance with the Birth Certificate and Social Security paperwork
